February 6, 2021: Kipyn Martin and Kirsten Manville 7:30 on Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube

Kipyn Martin and Kirsten Manville

The Linden Tree Coffeehouse continues its 36th season of Memorable Music with live streaming shows featuring Linden Tree past favorite performers from the safety of their homes. The February 6th show features talented Kipyn Martin and Kirsten Manville.

Kipyn Martin is an emerging Indie Folk singer-songwriter whose roots sink deep into the banks of the Shenandoah River, now living in Maryland. She has an incredible crystal clear voice. Musical magic happens whether she is singing traditional folk songs, blues, Joni Mitchell songs, or her own personal compositions. Before Covid, she played festivals, concert halls, coffeehouses, and house concerts from New England to Texas. Kipyn also tours the country with Allison Shapira in the duo show Joan & Joni, a tribute to the music of Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell who played Linden Tree Season 34.

Kipyn Martin writes intensely personal songs whose music and lyrics call to mind a young Joni Mitchell, but the first thing you notice, a la Garfunkel, is the voice. Kipyn ‘s release of Dance Across the Sky, followed up her debut Undercover Muse. She has won the coveted Gold Award in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (Open category) for God is Love, her third MASC Gold adding to previous wins in 2013 and 2014.

Kirsten Manville is also a singer-songwriter with a strong voice accompanying herself with guitar and flute. Her music explores the intricacies of love and life. Her music is heartfelt, when telling a story, capturing a moment in time. Her smile invites the audience to share her love of music and songwriting whether she is performing solo or as one half of the duo Kirsten & Dave.

“Music, specifically singing and songwriting, have always been the primary way I have tried to make sense of the world and the ups and downs of life.” Kirsten says. She hopes that listeners can relate to the emotions and stories depicted in her songs. Plus singing, Kristen says, “is really fun and makes me feel good.” Kirsten is a Wakefield gal, who in non-Covid time is Linden Tree’s featured host for the Winter Potpourri. Come with Me and Some People Sing are her most recent CDs.
