A founding member of the Boston Area Coffeehouse Association (BACHA) the Linden Tree Coffeehouse, formed in 1985, now holds its concerts in the social hall of the Temple Emmanuel, 120 Chestnut St. Wakefield, MA 01880. Easy to find from 95. Street parking with handicap spots in the driveway area. The building is handicap accessible.
As LTC enters its fifth decade, there will be 4-5 shows per year held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Most of the performers can be heard on local folk radio station WUMB (91.9). * Complete information about each performer may be found in articles printed in The Wakefield Daily Item, Wakefield Observer, and the Middlesex East supplement to the Chronicle.
Formerly, there were about twelve acoustic music concerts featuring local and national singer-songwriters, playing a wide range of folk music from contemporary, traditional, bluegrass, and blues.
Many of the coffeehouse regular patrons have come each month because of the wonderful talent, friendly atmosphere, fresh coffee, and homemade baked goods. While there will be fewer shows and no refreshments available, we are sure that the concerts will still be more like a party where people of all ages meet and enjoy each other.
The Linden Tree Coffeehouse is run by a staff of “professional” volunteers. Volunteers are always needed to help with set-up and breakdown on show dates, online PR, and general admistrative tasks, as well as people who have experience doing the sound during concerts. Volunteering earns you free admission! For volunteer as well as for general information, call 978- 326 7905 or email lindentree85ATcomcast.net
